Keeping a house clean is easier than cleaning a house
This shouldn’t come as a surprise as it’s the advice you’re always given, but it’s true. It’s easier to pick up a room on a daily basis then to put it off for weeks and then devote a whole day to it. It’s also better for your mental well being. You can either address the few issues that arise daily and enjoy the benefits of a clean home all year round, or you can live in a cluttered mess straight out of the show Hoarders and stress about all the cleaning you need to do on a near constant basis… The choice is yours. They know the virtues of minimalism
It’s not rocket science, more stuff means more stuff to pick up and clean. How many of us have couches and chairs that no one sits on and just collect junk? How much junk do we have strewn around the house? (I’m looking at you pile of books) Take a good hard look around your house and see what clutter you have that you might not use or need. Would you be happier in the long run if you just got rid of it? … Maybe.Don’t obsess over giving away all of your earthly possessions, but it can help you keep an easier to clean (and cleaner looking) space. If they can't make it, they fake it
Okay, they do a lot of cleaning, but everyone has those days, weeks, or even years that don’t go right. When these come up, it's important to not lose all track of your goals for a clean house and to minimize the destruction. If you can’t clean your whole house than clean your Kitchen, or living room. If you have guests coming over, clean the guest bathroom, even if it means it looks nicer than yours for the time being. Be honest with your own limits and desires and do the best you can. However, don’t just shove those dirty plates underneath the guest bed.Okay, maybe none of these are "secrets" and they probably shouldn't come as a surprise either, but don’t beat yourself up if you aren't following them!
